Hello! I wrote this about a month ago, and then a bunch of other stuff happened.
At the top there is a tutorial of sorts for this very 80s side-pocket-opening and then some chatting.
I am 63 items deep into an WIP pile. I seriously somehow had 62 items that were in progress and I decided to start a new one. Some of these projects I started so long ago they don't even fit anymore. I actually started working on dealing with this pile back in August by making vlogs for myself, but I stopped after completing a handful of things, and went back on my BS. Then I saw Vincent Briggs' blog about his Pile and I am now motivated to work on mine again.
As for what I'm counting as a wip...everything counts. This includes: things I have bought the fabric for and already have it planned out in my mind palace, thrifted clothes that I bought to fix but never did, things I started, got stuck and undid it but I still want to make (this is usually a yarn project), and then all the usual suspects after that. After gathering it all I cataloged everything on a spreadsheet to help organize myself with notes on what needed to be done, what craft it is what % done it is, and even what color it is.
Over 50% of my wips are alterations...
Alterations: 34
Crochet: 6
Cross stitch: 1
Etc: 1
Needlepoint: 1
Knitting: 4
Sewing: 18
# at 80+%: 10
# at 0%: 17
I will use an RNG to generate 2 items to work on*.
When I finish one project I will roll another number. (If it turns out I start ignoring a project I will start waiting until I finish both projects and re rolling then.)
The only other thing I'll dismiss is if I need to buy something that's significant to the structure of the piece. But then I'll buy it that day and chose another number.
If I need to buy something minor like lace, I will buy it asap & start working on the rest of it.
If one of the projects I got brings me dread, I will consider scrapping for parts instead. Hesitance is weakness. (emoji here)
I will be blogging here about my projects to keep my motivation up! (with the tag ufocountdown)
I will determine this number at a later date but I will not be starting any of my 0% projects (I will be adding these to the rng to be pulled when I've completed a certain number of projects)
This week I got.....37- a faux patchwork skirt & 44- a tent dress! I will update you all when I finish those two!
*2 item rule is taken from this blog post by the yellow spool.
favicons are from emojibankrepository on tumblr and divider is from foollovers
I want to blog more!! And, I need to clean out some of my drafts.. so here we are! I finished this little crochet piece maybe 1-2 years ago now... 2-3 years ago I saw this jane marple dress on lolibrary.....and after Josine Maaike made a blog post that showcased the dress.... and I felt I should make it now....

| These pictures weren't up when I made this project, so I feel very vindicated that my version looks so similar. |
The panel is a simple filet crochet piece. The filet is done with 1x1 filet rather than a 2x2 filet. It is very simple as all there is is... 1 dc ch 1, 1 dc ch 1... until the end of a row where you chain 4 and dc in the top of the dc from the previous row. Here's a video to help you along.
I used a pretty standard size 10 mercerized cotton thread/yarn and a 1.5 mm hook. My piece ended up being 3.5 x 7.5 inches.

That's all!

Day 1 – 10 things about your lolita bubble.
1. It's 99% online.
The reason for this being...
2. It's secretive.
This is both in regards to my irl life, but also because I'm so bad at sharing what I'm doing online as well...
3. I use lolita to push myself creatively.
I
have a handful of artsty hobbies and getting into lolita brought me out
(and then back in at times) of a huge slump creatively. I picked up
drawing again to draw coordinates and lolita OCs, I started sewing more
challenging garments for lolita and altering more professionally, I
started crocheting and knitting, not exactly to make lolita pieces, but
because I loved the delicacy of lolita and I wanted more skills to bring
that out of me more!
4. I have a very specific color scheme.
Black,
white and cream for main colors and grey, brown and red for accent
colors. I only have 2 pieces that stray from this! A dusty pink VM skirt
and an olive sailor op from AP!
5. I have never twinned with someone!
I really want to! It's just never come up exactly. I really love odd blouses. While I think a blouse with a keyhole cutout is my best purchase, not many other people are going to own that...
Back again with another project based on Heart E's winged accessories. This time, for winter!
| I adore you Heart E |
OK its after wardrobe season..... BUT I just really wanted to have a comprehensive thing. I could not find a good/consistent place to take pics so, most the pics are from lolibrary. A few I took myself. Some are from closetchild/wunderwelt. This post is very ugly and messy!!! So beware!!!!!
